The anticipated wage for this position is between $20 and $23.5. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location and other factors.

DEPARTMENT / TEAM DESCRIPTION

Packaging Department - Responsible for the visual inspection and packaging of pharmaceutical products.

POSITION SUMMARY

This role is responsible for performing all activities related to the inspection and packaging of production lots, including maintaining cleanliness and organization of the inspection and packaging areas.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Visually inspect product vials for defects, inspect media-filled vials for contamination (e.g., turbidity), and verify quality of packaging components.
  • Follow all cGMP guidelines and complete all data entry contemporaneously in BPRs/EBRs and inventory management systems.
  • Assemble products and components for packaging operations according to the production schedule, Bill of Materials (BOMs), or direction from the Assistant Supervisor or Supervisor.
  • Perform inventory adjustments and material movements within inventory management systems.
  • Set up packaging lines and equipment; safely operate equipment for packaging and component preparation.
  • Distribute components, supplies, and products to packaging stations to maintain efficient operations.
  • Unload products from storage containers and inspect closures and product contents; verify accurate lot information on product containers and components.
  • Organize and transport products into and out of 2-8°C cold rooms.
  • Properly secure and store all in-process products and components.
  • Move skids, transit trays, hand trucks, and other containers of products, components, bottles, or equipment as needed for operational efficiency.
  • Seal, stack, and secure cases of packaged product on skids for transport to the Shipping Department.
  • Perform line clearances; count and reconcile products and components.
  • Complete all functions safely and in compliance with cGMP, including accurate documentation in logbooks and BPRs/EBRs.
REQUIREMENTS / PREFERENCES

Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
Skills & Competency Requirements

(Non-negotiable core skills)
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English to interpret written and verbal instructions, SOPs, BPRs, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Consistent, reliable attendance and performance.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • SAP knowledge and proficiency, including writing and executing SAP notifications.
  • Strong housekeeping and organizational skills in accordance with cGMP standards.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 300 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods (up to a full shift).
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand/wrist motions, bending, and twisting.
  • Ability to squat, bend at the waist, and reach above the head for extended periods.
  • Ability to work without heavy makeup or hand lotion.
  • Ability to identify color-coded labels.
  • Ability to wear required protective clothing, including latex, nitrile, or cotton gloves.
  • Ability to work in environments with dust, corrugated materials, and chemicals.
  • Must meet all requirements on the occupational/physical demands checklist.
Preferences (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Experience operating automated equipment.
Pay Details: $20.00 to $23.50 per hour
