Role Description

This is a remote internship role for a Lead Astrobiologist and Principal Scientist at Space Belief. The selected candidate will lead research in developing and optimizing extraterrestrial agriculture systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting advanced experiments on regolith remediation, sustainable waste conversions, and closed‑loop agricultural systems.
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams, analyzing experimental data, and designing methodologies.
  • Contributing to scientific publications while pushing the boundaries of astrobiological research and innovation.
  • Assisting in applying learnings to initiatives targeting human survival on different planetary environments.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in astrophysics, astrobiology, or planetary sciences, with a track record of scientific research and innovation.
  • Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and working with simulation models relevant to space environments.
  • Experience in agriculture, biotechnology, and environmental science, particularly in challenging or extreme conditions.
  • Strong collaboration, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
  • Doctoral degree in a related field (e.g., astrobiology, biology, environmental science) or equivalent advanced research experience.
  • Published research in peer‑reviewed scientific journals and experience with space agency collaborations are a plus.
  • Passion for advancing human exploration and sustainability in space in alignment with Space Belief's mission.
