Position Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accounting Manager specializing in technical accounting and reporting. In this role, the Manager will lead the technical accounting for leases under IFRS 16 and will serve as the subject matter expert for IFRS. A key component of the role will be to provide accurate and timely financial information for decision-making and compliance purposes. The role is also responsible for ensuring our financial reporting adheres to the group/parent reporting standards (IFRS). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of technical accounting guidance and a pristine ability to analyze and produce executive-level summaries for management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Act as subject matter expert on technical accounting, financial reporting, and accounting operations, specifically IFRS 16 (Leases).
2. Contribute to the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual lease reporting in accordance with IFRS requirements.
3. Prepare technical accounting memos and analysis as needed, including preparation and review of technical accounting items to the group/parent company.
4. Lead the monthly accounting processes for leases including all journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting requirements.
5. Implement and train accounting staff on accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental, financial, and tax regulations and comply with IASB and IFRS standards.
6. Monitor changes in IFRS standards and ensure their appropriate implementation.
7. Conduct research and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
8. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews to ensure a smooth and timely audit process.
9. Assist in the preparation of management reports and presentations.
10. Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or ACCA certification preferred.
2. Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in accounting or auditing with a strong emphasis on technical accounting.
3. Thorough understanding of public company accounting principles and standards; IFRS experience is a plus.
4. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
7. Proficiency in accounting software with experience using large ERP such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, etc. and MS Office Suite with advanced Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. CPA or CPA eligible
2. Experience in a managerial or supervisory role
3. Experience with NetSuite ERP and NetGain software
