divh2Associate Assignment Desk Editor/h2pNexstar Media Group Inc.s station, KRON4, the San Francisco Bay Areas Local News Station, seeks an Associate Assignment Desk Editor. This position is responsible for finding, researching and confirming news content on broadcast and digital platforms. The Associate Assignment Editor monitors police scanners and social media feeds for breaking news, and answers phone calls and emails. The Associate Assignment Editor will also work with Assignment Editors and Executive Producers on assigning reporters and photographers. This position will work out of the KRON4 Newsroom located on the Embarcadero. This is a part-time, non-union, non-exempt position./ph3Responsibilities/h3ulliTracks and confirms stories from all sources including government agencies, wire services, community groups, and social media/liliWorks with Assignment Editors and Executive Producers to dispatch reporters and photographers to cover stories/liliAssists Assignment Editors in development, planning and follow-up of news stories/liliParticipates in daily editorial meetings/liliInteracts with viewers/users via phone and social media sites/liliPerforms other duties as assigned/li/ulh3Requirements Skills:/h3ulliBachelors degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience/liliSome newsroom experience required/liliExcellent communication skills, both oral and written/liliProficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment/liliAbility to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously/liliFlexibility to work nights, mornings, weekend/li/ulpCompensation $25/hr+ commensurate with experience and skill level/p/div
