Developer Advocate

Description:

The Reality Labs Developer Platform and Documentation Engineering team at Meta is seeking a Developer Advocate. You will help Meta's developer ecosystem find success in building experiences for Meta Horizon. This role will use documentation, video, samples, prototypes, and more to ensure developers have the tools to be successful. You'll work with product and engineering leadership to establish priorities, developer success strategy, and communicate regular updates on what's happening in the space. You will be a developer yourself and provide feedback to internal product teams that improve developers' lives. You will be responsible for ensuring solid partnerships, steady growth, and measurable impact.

  • Develop knowledge of Meta Horizon products, technologies, and business to build solutions to solve developer problems at scale.
  • Use broad range of technical and soft skills to build productive relationships with our developers.
  • Use expertise and product insight to deliver high‑quality project/integration/partner engagements, while influencing product roadmap to meet the business needs.
  • Work with partners to develop a long‑term strategic plan, grounded on business objectives, and manage partners during integrations with Meta's platform products and ensure value creation.
  • Build and manage working relationships with technical counterparts. Mentor and share knowledge with peers, creating an atmosphere amongst team setting common goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer (or similar technical discipline) building and shipping production quality applications and code.
  • Experience with software design and architecture.
  • Experience communicating technical concepts to less-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in building strategic partnerships in technical domains.
  • Experience presenting and creating presentations that explain the technology and/or the product offerings to a variety of audiences: internal and external executive and other community members.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, research directions, and emerging technologies.
  • Experience driving technical documentation such as requirements documents, technical/research course contents, engineering training, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with C++ and C# development, iOS and Android development, TypeScript, and web development.
  • Experience with Game Engines like Unity and Unreal Engine.
  • Familiarity with MR/VR/AR and other related concepts.

$173,000/year to $247,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
