Responsibilities

  • Provide tax compliance and advisory services to corporations and operating partnerships for a variety of clients from Fortune 100 companies to emerging businesses.
  • Collaborate with accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) and tax provision calculations.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, helping to provide industry knowledge and experience; manage teams of tax professionals and assistants working on client projects.
  • Oversee a portfolio of clients of varying size and scope and act as the point of contact for internal and external clients; build and manage client relationships; advise clients and be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and advice.
  • Manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and project budgets.
  • Participate in and contribute to market and business activities external to the firm.

Additional Responsibilities (Senior Manager)

  • Manage risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and project budgets.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practice.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of recent corporate tax experience in an accounting firm, corporation and/or law firm.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials.
  • Experience with corporate taxation, consolidations, strong knowledge of ASC 740 and tax provisions or operating partnerships.
  • Prior experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information.

Additional Qualifications (Senior Manager)

  • Minimum eight years of recent corporate tax experience in an accounting firm, corporation and/or law firm; experience mentoring and counseling staff/senior level team members.

Benefits & Compensation

KPMG LLP and its affiliates and subsidiaries (“KPMG”) complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges. The displayed range for California is $96,800 - $187,500. Any offered salary is determined based on relevant factors such as applicant's skills, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications and market considerations.
