Electrical Project Engineer – Substation (4 openings)

4 Openings & 4 Locations Available: Walnut Creek, CA; Denver, CO; Tualatin, OR; Overland Park, KS.

Overview

Our client is a global engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction company specializing in critical infrastructure across the energy, water, telecommunications, and government sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support substation projects up to 765kV, including both physical and protection & controls design.
• Develop drawings, schematics, layouts, relay panel wiring, grounding, and auxiliary power systems.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of design packages, mentor junior engineers, and oversee project deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and project teams to ensure technical excellence.
• Prepare budgets, schedules, and specifications for procurement and construction.
• Support business development opportunities and present proposals/designs to clients.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in HV (69 kV and higher) substation design (physical and/or P&C) for a power utility in the USA.
• Project lead or technical specialist background.
• Strong QA/QC and client coordination experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
