About Corporate Groups

BioMarin's corporate groups—IT, Finance, Legal, Global Compliance & Ethics, and People Team—provide foundational support to all areas of operation. The FP&A team is an integral part of this framework, collaborating across disciplines to deliver financial planning and analysis for the Skeletal Conditions Business Unit.

Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of a cross‑functional, multi‑national FP&A team supporting the Skeletal Conditions Business Unit with an emphasis on the Commercial organization. Reporting to the Skeletal Conditions Director of FP&A, the Analyst will drive BU financial planning, P&L management, and reporting, developing robust analytics and insights that inform strategic business decisions and align with company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead budget and forecast processes, including development of templates, timelines, and communication; consolidate business inputs and analyze combined budgets.
  • Finance business partner to cost centers/budget owners, supporting investment decisions and spend analysis; prepare and present management updates to the Executive team.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial packages for senior management, highlighting key insights and trends.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, conducting variance analysis against budget and forecasts.
  • Drive ongoing process improvement and automation projects within the finance team to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Act as cross‑functional liaison on P&L with Technical Operations (TOPS) and Worldwide R&D (WWRD) on OpEx.
  • Conduct ad‑hoc reporting and analysis to support strategic decision‑making.

Experience Desired

  • 3+ years of experience in complex corporate finance environments, preferably in‑house corporate finance.
  • Understanding of the biopharma industry and its regulated landscape; experience in other healthcare segments is also attractive.
  • In‑depth experience with financial systems and planning applications; familiarity with SAP, Oracle, Hyperion or similar ERP tools is helpful.
  • Results‑driven, adaptable, flexible, and creative in developing improvement ideas and solutions.
  • Hands‑on experience working closely with the operations of a high‑growth business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective teammates and independently.
  • Strong attention to detail, decision‑making, problem‑solving, time‑management, and organizational skills.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
  • Advanced degree (CPA, MBA) preferred.
