Salary range: Commensurate with college teaching experience, in accordance with the current Unit‑18 lecturer salary scale and its provisions. A reasonable estimate for this position is $70,977–$117,315. Full salary scale:
Percent time: Part time or full time. Summer Sessions appointments are handled on a by‑agreement basis. Academic year: a co‑taught course typically results in a 17% appointment; a single course typically results in a 33% appointment. Appointments may vary from 17% to 100% depending on departmental needs.
Anticipated start: Positions usually start in January, various times throughout the summer and August.
Position duration: One semester, academic year, or Summer Sessions.

The Psychology Department at University of California, Berkeley is generating an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors (“Lecturer” title series) to teach courses in the Department of Psychology. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the Psychology Department.

We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach a range of possible courses that vary in size and subject area. Subject areas include the ones listed below (but are not limited to):
In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include (but are not limited to) managing graders and/or graduate student instructors (teaching assistants), holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and maintaining a course website. Those teaching large courses are expected to work with, meet with, and mentor graduate student instructors.
