Marketing Coordinator (Temporary)

Location: San Leandro, California, United States

Employment Type: Temporary

The Ghirardelli Marketing Coordinator will be an integral support function for the Marketing department to coordinate key consumer promotions, manage logistics for new items, support analytical capabilities, plan events and meetings. The Marketing Coordinator will work cohesively and collaboratively across the marketing, sales, finance, and creative functions as well as agencies.

Scope of Responsibilities

Promotions

  • Manage logistics of couponing programs such as coupon creation, accruals for redemption, ad hoc issues resolution (frauds, new formats, etc.)
  • Manage FSI newspaper lists and coordination with suppliers
  • Oversee the donations requests and work with office services on management (still executed by LaJoyce but ideally, this will transfer to HR)
  • Execute Facebook posts and monitor site highlighting issues to the Managers
  • Interface with PR agency to send samples or provide marketing collateral as needed
  • Execute programs with external partners (e.g. wine and coffee cross promotions)

Market Data Support

  • Manage Nielsen database - run standard reports for managers when data refreshes, identifying data issues for CCD resource to fix, run ad hoc reports as requested by managers

New Product Development

  • Update and maintain master project list for all new product development projects. Submit updated list to the Management Team on a bi-weekly basis and attend portfolio working team meetings
  • Manage and support templates and reports for measuring resource utilization and project workload
  • Coordinate digital samples
  • Maintain and initiate bill of materials
  • Manage discontinuations and obsolete packaging for seasonal items
  • Consolidate display information for the team and work with PDC to annually conduct a display review

Events and Administration

  • Plan key departmental offsites, events, holiday parties, and Marketing Plan Dialogue logistics
  • Coordinate the meetings, project forms, and master project list for New Product meetings and provide materials to Management Team prior to meeting dates
  • Support Creative and Brand in locating images of packaging and displays
  • Code departmental invoices
  • Plan occasional travel for VP

Approximately 70% of the time will be to support departmental needs with 30% to support Seasons specifically.

  • Strong project management and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal communications skills
  • Understanding of marketing and communications tactics
  • Computer experience (Microsoft Office, internet, facebook)
  • Budgeting skills
  • Event planning

Education and Work Experience

  • College degree (BA or BS); background in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, Computer Science or related field
  • 1-2 years experience coordinating marketing projects

Salary Range

$40 - $40 / hour
