Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement computational pipelines for image processing of whole-slide histopathology data
- Leverage traditional image processing and modern machine learning techniques (e.g., segmentation, classification)
- Collaborate closely with pathologists to ensure image analysis workflows align with biological questions
- Utilize commercial and open-source pathology software (e.g., OpenSlide, HALO, Visiopharm, QuPath)
- Handle gigapixel-scale whole-slide images using efficient and scalable methods
- Conduct data visualization and statistical analysis to support preclinical research
- Implement version control, reproducible workflows, and contribute to cross-functional collaborations
- Optionally contribute to deep learning model development using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras
- Participate in pipeline orchestration, HPC model training, and possibly cloud-based deployments (AWS EC2)
- Communicate analysis results and computational strategies effectively across scientific disciplines
Required Qualifications
- Education: MS or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience: 2+ years of hands‑on experience in image analysis or computational pathology
Technical Skills (Required)
- Image analysis using both traditional and machine learning techniques
- Whole‑slide image (WSI) processing using tools such as OpenSlide
- Version control with Git and use of GitHub or GitLab
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data visualization tools
