Overview

Join Gilead Sciences as a Research Associate, Medicinal Chemistry. We're developing therapies for HIV, viral hepatitis, COVID-19 and cancer, and we need a dedicated chemist to participate in a multidisciplinary drug‑discovery team through the design and synthesis of new molecules.

Responsibilities

  • Design, synthesize, and evaluate new molecules as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Apply advanced organic synthesis techniques to address drug‑discovery challenges.
  • Collaborate with medicinal chemists, biologists, and other stakeholders to advance projects from concept to preclinical candidate.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field and 0+ years of relevant experience; OR
  • Associate's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong synthetic skills and a solid knowledge of modern organic synthesis techniques.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is: $82,195.00 - $106,370.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location.

This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock‑based long‑term incentives, paid time off, and a benefits package including company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
