Position Summary
Project Manager (PM) is primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating projects to complete the work safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The PM provides leadership to the project team, directs the success of the overall project from initial estimating through completion, and ensures adherence to company procedures.
Location
Santa Clara, CA with anticipated travel to project sites in and around the greater Bay Area region.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with Executive Management, Estimating, Field Operations, and key stakeholders to define the scope of work and create a project execution plan.
- Set up pre‑planning meetings and establish project budget.
- Develop a workable schedule for cost control, labor, material, and equipment.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Review project progress with the Executive Management Team incrementally throughout the project.
- Hold weekly meetings with field staff.
- Coordinate with Purchasing on all equipment and material buyouts.
- Manage all financial aspects of the contract; prepare a cost‑to‑complete report quarterly.
- Prepare monthly billings for submission to the General Contractor or Owner.
- Prepare and review monthly subcontractor billing.
- Represent Murray Company in project meetings.
- Assist in labor negotiations and strategy.
- Document pending problems and advise management.
- Assume all Project Engineer responsibilities in the absence of a Project Engineer.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or another relevant field is desired, or at a minimum strong experience and understanding of industrial construction/engineering design concepts.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience on diverse commercial and/or industrial mechanical projects; experience with high‑purity process piping is a plus.
- Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance through understanding of corporate practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities.

- Must be able to read printed and digital documents.
- Must be able to climb ladders, access and egress trenches, attic spaces, and confined spaces.
- Requires hearing ability to communicate in noisy environments.
- Must be able to recognize alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
- Must have the ability to grasp, handle, and manipulate small objects.
