Research Coordinator

  2025-11-07     Oura     San Francisco,CA
Description:

Join to apply for the Research Coordinator role at ŌURA.

Oura is committed to empowering every person to own their inner potential. Our award‑winning products give the world deeper knowledge of readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using the Oura Ring and its connected app. Millions of people have improved their health through daily insights and actionable steps that inspire healthier lifestyles.

We build and live our values to empower the world. As a rapidly growing company focused on healthier, happier lives, we provide our team members all that's needed to do their best work — inside and outside the office.

We're looking for a Research Coordinator to join our Research Operations team. This team drives end‑to‑end execution of studies that enable new feature development and validation. You will help run human research studies that form the foundation of our R&D — ensuring each study runs smoothly, on time, and delivers high‑quality data.

In this role you'll gain hands‑on experience with every part of the research lifecycle: protocol development, participant recruitment, data collection, and monitoring. Working closely with hardware, product, and science teams on campus, you'll translate cutting‑edge science into real‑world products.

This is a US hybrid role based in the San Francisco office. We require candidates to be onsite at least three days per week.

What You Will Do

  • Contribute to multiple projects developing Oura's sensing capabilities by conducting in‑person data collections, deploying hardware, supporting research operations, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
  • Become an expert on Oura Ring data‑collection capabilities, as well as relevant reference devices and tools through first‑hand testing.
  • Ensure data collections run smoothly, efficiently, and according to protocol.
  • Manage equipment inventory, ensuring devices are organized and ready for use.
  • Pursue continual process and tool improvements through creating and refining Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Implement and upload human‑subjects research best practices following Good Clinical Practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Health Science, Exercise Science, Human Biology, Cognitive Science, Public Health, Data Science, or a related interdisciplinary field.
  • At least one year of full‑time experience in hardware testing or human studies research in academic, commercial, or clinical settings (e.g., consent, IRB approval, data flows).
  • A strong record of delivering high‑quality datasets with meticulous documentation.
  • Experience problem‑solving, adapting, and working in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A team‑oriented mindset and experience working with both internal and external research teams (e.g., data or clinical scientists, principal investigators, vendors, administrative and legal collaborators).
  • Recent (within the past two years) Human‑Subjects/Good Clinical Practice training, such as CITI.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours for global team calls (including Finland time zones) and occasional travel for site visits or meetings.

We also appreciate if you have familiarity with the following

  • Wearable devices or remote patient monitoring.
  • Multi‑modal and sensor data.
  • Python, SQL, GitHub.

Benefits

At Oura, we care about you and your well‑being. Everyone here has a ring of their own and we continually improve employee health.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and equity packages.
  • Health, dental, vision insurance, and mental health resources.
  • An Oura Ring in your own store plus employee discounts for friends and family.
  • 20 days of paid time off plus 13 paid holidays plus eight days of flexible wellness time off.
  • Paid sick leave and parental leave.

San Francisco Base Compensation Range: $72,000 - $90,000
