Description:

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking a Certified Payroll Specialist to support our growing client that is in the Construction industry. This temporary to hire position focuses on certified payroll reporting, apprenticeship verification, and related administrative functions.

Work Location:
Hybrid schedule - 4 days per week onsite in Oakland, CA, and 1 day remote after the initial training period.
Key Responsibilities

  • Upload, verify, and maintain certified payroll reports in compliance with prevailing wage requirements.
  • Track, collect, and upload apprenticeship certificates and other project-specific employee documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in all payroll submissions and reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Perform additional administrative and accounting support duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with certified payroll, fringe benefits, and prevailing wage compliance (DIR and Davis-Bacon).
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities; team-oriented and dependable.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with LCP Tracker, Elations, or Sage is highly desirable.
