About the Role
We are currently searching for a Manager, Governance Strategy and Engagement as part of an effort to build a team of professionals who will support Uber's governance strategy, shareholder engagement, and global reporting efforts. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team and to work on cutting edge issues in an exciting, fast‑paced environment. This position will be supervised by the Global Head of Governance Strategy and Engagement and is located in either the New York or San Francisco office. The candidate will be a member of the Corporate Legal Organization.
What You'll Do
Drive internal cross‑functional strategy and engagement:
- Serve as the Governance Strategy and Engagement team's climate/environmental expert and liaison to Sustainability teams across all lines of business and corporate operations.
- Support climate/environmental gap and materiality assessments, integrating climate considerations into strategic planning.
- Chair the Global Governance Strategy and Engagement Working Group, coordinating cross‑functional alignment under the Global Head's oversight.
- Improve supply chain governance strategy due diligence.
Guide environmental disclosures and global reporting:
- Lead global reporting and compliance, aligning Uber with regulatory mandates and reporting frameworks.
- Monitor external trends, benchmarks, and evolving global frameworks to inform Uber's Governance Strategy and Engagement disclosures.
- Project‑manage Uber's climate and environmental reporting of Scope 1, 2, 3 emissions and performance.
- Draft and contribute to Uber's governance strategy, environmental disclosures, 10‑K, proxy statement, and CDP reporting.
- Lead any pertinent climate/environmental disclosures across the firm.
Lead climate‑focused stakeholder engagement:
- Act as core climate subject‑matter expert in stewardship shareholder engagements, interfacing with Management, Board of Directors, and institutional stakeholders.
- Respond to governance and sustainability questionnaires from internal and external stakeholders, including rater and ranker surveys.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a climate/environmental subject‑matter expert and reporting lead.
- Experience with climate/sustainability reporting.
- BA or BS Degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of global regulatory and sustainability standards (SBTi, GHG Protocol, SASB, TCFD, IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards).
- Confidence operating in a fast‑paced environment.

Compensation
For New York, NY‑based roles: the base salary range is $152,000 per year – $168,500 per year. For San Francisco, CA‑based roles: the base salary range is $152,000 per year – $168,500 per year. All U.S. locations are eligible for Uber's bonus program, equity awards, and other compensation types. Benefits details available at
