Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Services and the Associate Director of Community Services, the Bilingual Clinical Case Manager provides direct case management and therapeutic services in alignment with professional, legal, and ethical standards, as well as the mission and values of the YMCA of San Francisco . The Clinical Case Manager uses empathetic, client-centered, and solution-focused approaches to support individuals and families. This role requires active participation in required meetings and trainings, and consistent delivery of high-quality client services as outlined below.

Job Responsibilities

Provide Clinical Case Management

  • Deliver case management and therapeutic services for clients in the Diversion and Juvenile Sexual Responsibility (JSR) Programs, including counseling, crisis intervention, skills coaching, and care coordination in community and home settings.
  • Partner with Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS), Human Services Agency (HSA), Probation, law enforcement, and community organizations to coordinate treatment and support for youth and families.

Participate in Supervision and Communication

  • Engage in individual and group supervision per BBS requirements and maintain clear, timely communication with team members and leadership.

Maintain Documentation and Compliance

  • Complete accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation and reports within required timelines. Meet weekly service and documentation standards for the Diversion and JSR Programs.

Uphold Professional and Legal Standards

  • Maintain BHRS credentialing, adhere to mandated reporting laws, and ensure compliance with YMCA safety, confidentiality, and risk management policies.

Engage in Training and Continuous Learning

  • Complete all required safety and compliance trainings, attend meetings, and participate in professional development activities.

Promote Organizational Values

  • Model the YMCAs core values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility while fostering collaboration, leadership, and mission-driven service.

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Perform additional responsibilities as directed to support program goals and organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with youth and families from diverse backgrounds in clinical and/or school settings.
  • Meet one of the following education and experience pathways:
    • Option A: Masters degree (MA/MS/MSW) in counseling, social work, or psychology, with current licensure/registration (e.g., AMFT, ACSW, LMFT, LCSW, PsyD, PhD) and at least 6,000 hours (?2 years) of clinical/mental health experience.
    • Option B: Bachelors degree in social work, sociology, counseling, or psychology, with at least 8,000 hours (?4 years) of clinical/mental health experience.
    • Option C: Associates degree (AA) in social work, sociology, counseling, or psychology, with at least 10,000 hours (?6 years) of clinical/mental health experience.


  • Knowledge and application of legal and ethical standards of practice, including child abuse reporting requirements.
  • Strong clinical skills and insight to effectively support clients and families.
  • Valid California drivers license and access to reliable transportation, or the ability to meet travel requirements through reasonable accommodation.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional)

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • All employees working with the YMCA are considered to have supervisory or disciplinary responsibilities over minors. As part of the onboarding process, fingerprinting and background checks are required and must be completed through the Associations Human Resources department prior to the first day of work.
  • The position may require sitting for extended periods (one hour or more at a time) and transporting work materials, such as a laptop and supplies weighing approximately 510 pounds, between work sites. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed to enable individuals to perform these tasks.
  • Work schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00am 5:30pm and Wednesdays from 10:30am 7pm most weeks.

Salary Description

The position offers a competitive salary of $29.00 $32.50 per hour. This rate is based on salary and hourly benchmarking standards for similar roles. This compensation is consistent with fundingallocated through grant approval and adheres to the established salary structure for the position.
