Overview

Rogers Joseph O'Donnell, P.C., is seeking an associate attorney with an active California Bar license and 2-7 years of experience in litigation to work in the firm's San Franisco office to support one or more of its practice groups.

Responsibilities

  • Support one or more of the firm's practice groups from the San Franisco office.
  • Be a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Take on client-facing opportunities early and often.
  • Contribute to the firm's growth through strong legal work, smart business-focused advice, and collaboration with staff and attorneys.
  • Be flexible about remote work while maintaining in-office presence at least three days per week.
  • Maintain a minimum of 1800 billable hours per year; pro-bono work up to 100 hours and DEI work up to 25 hours may count toward the target.
  • Eligible for hours-based bonuses at 1900, 2000, and 2100 total billable hours, plus merit-based bonuses based on performance and contributions.

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar license.
  • 2-7 years of experience in litigation.
  • Strong academic credentials, excellent writing skills, strong analytical abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in litigating retail-trade, construction disputes, government contracts, or employment matters (especially wage and hour class and PAGA actions) is highly desired.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range for this role is 178000 to 210000 per year, with benefits that include the entirety of the associate's health and dental insurance premiums and 30 percent of the premiums for dependents, as well as bar fees and CLE costs. This is the salary range the firm believes it would pay at the time of posting. Pay within the range will be based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs.

Bonuses & Hours

  • Minimum 1800 billable hours per year required to remain in good standing; approved pro-bono work up to 100 hours and DEI work up to 25 hours may count toward the target.
  • Hours-based bonuses: 1900 total hours = 10 percent of base salary; 2000 total hours = 10 percent + 15 percent of base salary; 2100 total hours = 10 percent + 15 percent + 20 percent of base salary.
  • Merit-based bonuses awarded annually for outcomes, contributions to the firm, and business development.
