Academic Program Coordinator

Description:

SFCM's Academic Program Coordinator helps manage an array of academic offerings, with a particular focus on supporting the Technology and Applied Composition (TAC) program.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares employment agreements for faculty.
  • Supports timesheet and reimbursement tracking and classroom guest visit proposals.
  • Assists with logistics for Orientation, Commencement, Convocation, various competitions and other events sponsored by the Offices of the Provost, Dean, and Academic Affairs.
  • Assists in maintaining select faculty rosters and course offerings.
  • Prepares and monitors program budgets, in coordination with directors/chairs in those departments.
  • Administers departmental event calendars and communications with students and faculty.
  • In conjunction with Artistic Operations, coordinates and prepares departmental projects, performances, recording sessions, and guest lectures
  • Trains and supports departmental student workers.
  • Serves as an academic advisor for undergraduate and graduate students, as assigned.
  • Fosters academic and musical excellence, professional development, and community within SFCM's programs.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree - preferably in music or a related field.
  • High level of organizational ability and utmost attention to detail.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Google Suite power user.

  • Positive, friendly, and uplifting demeanor.
  • Self-motivated collaborator who demonstrates initiative, flexibility, maturity under pressure, and anticipates and resolves problems before they develop.
  • Adaptable to a flexible schedule to accommodate peak academic periods; may include evenings and weekends.
