Salary range: The current 9-month academic year salary range for the Assistant Professor position is $80,800-$128,700, and for the Associate Professor position the range is $99,600-$149,500. Off-scale salary and other components of pay may be offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.

The Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for two or more ladder rank faculty positions at the ranks of Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates in all areas of pure and applied mathematics are encouraged to apply. Associate Professorships carry tenure while Assistant Professor positions are regarded as tenure-track.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Applicants must have a PhD (or equivalent international degree), or be enrolled in a PhD or equivalent international degree-granting program at the time of application.
Preferred qualifications
Tenure-track applicants are expected to have demonstrated excellent research potential; tenured applicants should have research accomplishments of wide recognition. Serious consideration will be given to mentoring undergraduate and PhD students, teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels, evidence of effective leadership, professional service, and potential to contribute to the University's wider objectives. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
