Role Description

This is a full time on-site role for a Head Accountant located in San Francisco, CA. The Head Accountant will manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including managing financial transactions, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and budget preparation.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial data
• Oversee QuickBooks entries, journal adjustments, and account reconciliations
• Process and manage payroll through ADP, including employee benefits and compliance
• Prepare and file quarterly taxes
• Generate profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports
• Perform credit card reconciliations and monthly consolidations
• Calculate and distribute commissions for sales representatives
• Manage end-of-year reporting for tax filings and audits
• Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and support business growth strategies

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting experience (preferably in retail, or luxury goods)
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Suite
• Hands-on experience with payroll processing (ADP preferred)
• In-depth knowledge of tax preparation, including quarterly filings and year-end closeouts
• Strong background in accounts payable/receivable and credit card reconciliation
• Proven ability to prepare and analyze profit/loss statements and financial reports
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
