Job Summary: Langan is seeking an Environmental Engineer, Scientist or Geologist to join its collaborative team in San Francisco, California. This role involves site exploration activities including contaminated site investigation and remediation, soil and groundwater sampling, vapor intrusion investigation, remedial investigation/design/monitoring, pilot tests, data management, processing and evaluation, and report preparation. You will work with leadership on a diverse portfolio of projects in a continuous learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections and environmental investigations
  • Perform air, soil, gas, and groundwater sampling and remediation of contaminated properties
  • Assist with planning and execution of field investigations: logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests, and recording data; perform routine and special calculations
  • Provide field oversight of remediation activities and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with job specifications
  • Identify and implement solutions to field and/or laboratory problems; document results; communicate issues to supervisor
  • Assist with preparation of technical reports, specifications, plans, data management and evaluation, and environmental assessment/remediation
  • Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • 0-2 years of work-related experience; prior internship or professional work is preferred
  • For engineering degrees, EIT Certification or current FE registration is preferred
  • Strong technical education, professional demeanor, and desire to learn
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to remote job site locations
  • Availability to work overtime as needed

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role is $65,000 - $84,500. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, market conditions, and credentials. Some roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in annual bonus programs.
