Assistant Coach – Yolo Water Polo Club

Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, our club focuses on redefining the sport through innovative coaching and collaboration.

Role Description: This is an on‑site volunteer role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Assistant Coach will provide mentorship and guidance to players, assist with practice planning, and help implement training strategies that support player development. Responsibilities include supervising drills, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and supporting the Head Coach with game preparation and administrative tasks. The role involves active engagement with players and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of water polo gameplay, techniques, and rules
• Experience in leading drills, practices, and guiding player development
• Skills in communication, collaboration, and fostering team dynamics
• Ability to adapt to diverse skill levels and ensure inclusivity
• Passion for mentorship and the ability to inspire athletes
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
• Prior coaching experience or a background in water sports is preferred
