Job Summary

As a Project Administrator for a large research program, the candidate will support programming and administration related to multiple projects funded by the National Institutes of Health. The role includes developing and maintaining systems to support staff, trainees, and faculty co‑Investigators in conducting rigorous research on modifiable factors that reduce dementia risk. Responsibilities include maintaining ethical review applications, data use agreements, tracking systems, planning collaborative activities, and supporting communications with internal and external stakeholders under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and research team.

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics (DEB) at UCSF is the largest department of epidemiology in the California system, leading initiatives in population health, data science, informatics, health equity and AI. It operates under an education, science and research mission, training students and performing high‑impact research to improve public health.

• Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (8‑hour shift)

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
• Minimum 1+ years of directly relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of common organization‑ or research‑specific computer applications.
• Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to use discretion, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.
• Strong analytical skills to research and synthesize large amounts of data with attention to detail.
• Ability to multi‑task and manage demanding timeframes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
• Knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques.
• Understanding of common systems and practices in epidemiologic research, including ethical review and data management systems.
• Experience planning meetings and events to facilitate collaboration and achieve team goals.

Benefits & Compensation
