Why Your Role Matters
The School seeks a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Level B / Level C) to conduct research, publish in respected journals, teach, and engage with industry and community.
Responsibilities
- Engage in individual and/or collaborative research in a manner consistent with disciplinary practice.
- Produce scholarly impact recognised by peers.
- Conduct research under limited supervision, design research projects.
- Contribute to competitive funding applications (co‑investigator / chief investigator).
- Mentor students and colleagues, supervise HDR students.
- For Senior Lecturer: undertake independent research with significant impact, develop research groups, attract peer recognition, obtain research income from national grants.
About you
- A PhD in a related discipline (e.g., actuarial studies, economics, econometrics, risk and insurance, quantitative finance, machine learning).
- Capability to contribute to the School's core research and teaching strengths.
- Proven commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge.
- Demonstrated track record in research of high quality and impact.
- Experience in teaching design, development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- Involvement with the profession and/or industry.
- Desirable: post‑doctoral experience, industry experience, actuarial qualifications (Associateship or Fellowship).
