Senior Battery Scientist required for an innovative company involved in developing the next generation of batteries for various applications.

Based in the San Francisco Bay area, our client focuses on game-changing battery technologies and seeks to recruit Battery Scientists to evaluate cell materials, components, formulations, and cell design.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluating active materials to meet product requirements and R&D objectives
• Defining and validating standard test procedures, equipment, and protocols for R&D
• Building cells and analyzing data to measure and compare performance
• Applying diagnostics to investigate reactions, conduct failure mode analysis, and identify root causes
• Supporting product and process development teams in material evaluation, cell building, testing, and data analysis
• Assisting in designing and establishing a manufacturing line at a new facility

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Electrochemical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
• At least 7 years of industrial battery R&D or product experience
• Experience with lithium-ion/metal chemistry and battery components, especially active materials and electrolytes
• Ability to design experiments that yield clear results to inform decisions
• Experience with battery testing systems like Maccor or Neware
• Understanding of electrochemical performance and battery degradation models
