Position – Principal, Civil Engineer – Land Development Projects (Commercial) – Houston, TX

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Design and Engineering team within the North America Places group. The role focuses on expanding the civil commercial development project footprint within Texas and leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and consultants.

Role description

The Engineering Team at Arcadis is expanding, and this opportunity is for a Principal Civil Engineer – Land Development Projects (Commercial) for our Houston, Texas office. The candidate should be comfortable managing and leading a team and overseeing large, complex civil development projects such as hospitals, airports, residential neighborhoods, shopping complexes, and educational campuses. Arcadis is seeking a well-experienced Civil Engineer with a PE who can lead project delivery and client relationships.

The Civil Engineering Team at Arcadis is a dynamic group of professionals working to deliver legacy projects for private and public sector clients, with opportunities for professional and personal growth.

Role accountabilities

• Develop and grow the civil engineering practice based in the Houston, Texas Region, working with current and new clients through effective business development activities
• Develop and manage a team that can build positive relationships to facilitate new project opportunities while delivering outstanding projects
• Provide smart and effective project management to ensure projects meet client expectations for quality and Arcadis's commercial objectives
• Engage and work directly with clients, design staff, and regulatory agencies to obtain permits and project approvals

Qualifications & Experience

• Senior Civil Engineer with PE license and over 12 years of experience delivering civil site development projects and managing complex budgets in the Houston area
• Licensed (PE) Civil Engineer
• Experience building strong client relationships and undertaking business development activities
• Experience creating a positive work environment that enables others to do their best work
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Commitment to health and safety

Benefits

Benefits also include nine paid holidays and 20 days of PTO per year. Salary range for this position is $122,478 - $208,212, with final figures based on experience, education, budget, and location.
