About the role

As a Senior Accountant, you will report to the Financial Controller and play an important role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our US financial operations. You will help manage day-to-day financial activities, support month-end and year-end close processes, and provide valuable insights that drive strong financial performance. This role requires a strong understanding of US-specific accounting regulations alongside full-cycle accrual accounting knowledge, plus attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with a global team.

This is a full-time, in-office position, based in our San Francisco office.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and maintain accrual workpapers
• Review monthly reconciliations prepared by our outsourced accounting firm
• Assist with ASC 606 revenue calculations and reconciliations

Record Keeping and Compliance

• Maintain accurate records of invoices and invoice-related details for audit and other purposes
• Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible for review
• Assist business compliance across multiple states, including corporate registrations, annual reporting, license maintenance, and tax-related matters
• Liaise with government agencies and payroll/benefit vendors to resolve any issues

Data Management and Project Support

• Manage office mailbox daily, including scanning and storing documents
• Assist with ongoing internal projects by verifying the accuracy of migrated information
• Address any discrepancies or issues with migrated data to ensure system integrity

What Do You Need to Be Successful?

• At minimum, 3-4 years of experience as an Accountant or Senior Accountant
• Full-cycle accrual accounting experience, preferably in the tech industry or a fast-paced start-up environment
• Strong knowledge of US accounting regulations
• Expertise in financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, QuickBooks). HubSpot experience is a plus
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a global team
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is strongly preferred
• ASC606 experience is a strong plus

• Base pay range: $90K - $115K. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience
