The City of Berkeley invites applications for the position of Assistant Civil Engineer. In this role, you will work on capital improvement projects within the Parks, Recreation & Waterfront Department or the Public Works Department, performing professional civil engineering work related to planning, design, construction, and maintenance. A California PE license is required.
Department details: The Parks, Recreation & Waterfront Department manages over 50 parks and the largest public marina on the Bay, working on projects at parks, community centers, and waterfront facilities. The Public Works Department supports extensive infrastructure, working on projects aligned with initiatives like the Climate Action Plan, Pedestrian Plan, and Vision Zero.

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering and two years of professional civil engineering experience at a level comparable to the City of Berkeley Junior Public Works Engineer classification.
