Licensed Mental Health Professional - Adult Services

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Professional to provide comprehensive mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services. This role involves working with adults who present with a diverse range of mental health needs. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including treating physicians and allied health professionals to tailor individual treatment programs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement clinical treatment programs for individuals with acute or chronic mental illness, ensuring coordination and comprehensive evaluations through staff conferences.
  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups, while offering guidance to patients and families on adherence to treatment regimens.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential clinical records, including intake summaries and treatment plans, in compliance with state regulations and community standards.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians on screening and evaluating psychotropic medication needs, utilizing community resources and agencies to support patient care.
  • May supervise clinical interns or fellows to provide guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Offer familial support by explaining treatment processes and fostering an environment for acceptance and adherence to treatment plans.
  • Participate in program development and evaluation while reporting safety concerns as mandated.

Secondary Functions:

- Be available for on-call after-hours evaluations in the Emergency Department as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience: Not applicable.
  • Education: Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • License, Certification, Registration: Must hold a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor license in California. The Couples and Families Endorsement for LPC must be obtained within 24 months of hire. National Provider Identifier is required at hire.

Additional Requirements:

  • Proficient with DSM-V for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Experience with diverse psychiatric conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of social service agency processes, state regulations, and standards of confidentiality in patient care.
  • Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practices in mental health treatment.
  • Ability to effectively manage individual, family, and group therapeutic sessions.
  • Demonstrated ethical integrity and commitment to quality service in a collaborative environment.
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks with effective time management.
  • Ability to thrive in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-licensure experience as part of a psychiatric treatment team in outpatient or inpatient settings.
  • Proven abilities in crisis intervention and therapeutic practices.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and quality service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage several tasks in a timely manner.
  • Success in diagnosing conditions and developing impactful treatment plans.
  • Competency in individual, family, and group psychotherapy.

Location: 3900 Broadway, Oakland, California. This is a part-time position, requiring 32 hours per week, with shifts primarily scheduled from 08:00 AM to 07:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
