Job Details

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music is seeking a Student Billing Manager who will be responsible for day-to-day operations of student billing and account management. The incumbent ensures that tuition, fees, and other charges are billed accurately and timely, maintains student financial account records, and provides customer service to students and families regarding balances, payments, and refunds. The focus of the position is transactional, concentrating on billing cycles and account updates, with some involvement with system administration or strategic policy development.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Generating and distributing tuition and fee bills each term.
• Posting charges, adjustments, payments, and credits to student accounts.
• Administering student payment plans and monitor compliance.
• Processing refunds in compliance with Title IV and institutional requirements.
• Responding to student and family inquiries regarding billing, balances, and payment options.
• Providing reminders of upcoming due dates and assist with past-due account follow-up.
• Coordinating with Financial Aid and Registrar staff to ensure account accuracy.
• Assisting with reconciliations between student accounts and the general ledger and with financial aid office.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of student billing policies and procedures.
• Preparing routine reports (aging, balances, payment plan status).
• Performing Other Duties as Assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or equivalent experience).
• 2 or more years of relevant experience in accounting, billing, or customer service (higher education experience preferred).
• Familiarity with student information systems or ERP software a plus. Experience with PowerCampus and Nelnet are a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to accuracy.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative office.

$70,000 to $85,000 DOE
