Description:

System Engineer - Powering Autonomous Vehicles

Senior Systems Engineer – Functional Safety & Advanced Sensing

Shape the future of intelligent sensing systems. We're seeking a visionary systems engineer to define, architect, and guide the development of cutting‑edge safety‑critical sensing technologies that power next‑generation automotive and industrial applications. If you thrive at the intersection of systems architecture, functional safety, and advanced sensing, this role offers a chance to make an industry‑wide impact.

What You'll Do

  • Lead system architecture & safety strategy: Design and refine system‑level requirements that meet the highest standards of functional safety, including ISO 26262 compliance for ASIL‑rated systems.
  • Own the safety lifecycle: Author and manage key work products such as the Safety Plan, HARA, Functional Safety Concept (FSC), and Technical Safety Concept (TSC), ensuring alignment with internal design teams and external assessors.
  • Champion traceability & verification: Maintain complete end‑to‑end traceability from requirements through design, implementation, and testing to guarantee safe and consistent performance.
  • Automate intelligently: Use Python and modern AI‑driven tools to simplify documentation, automate verification workflows, and perform data‑driven analyses that enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally: Partner with hardware, software, and firmware teams to translate system goals into actionable requirements and ensure seamless integration across all components.
  • Manage engineering data with precision: Organize and maintain system artifacts, design data, and documentation within robust version control environments such as Git.
  • Deliver validated excellence: Define and execute verification and validation strategies, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional and safety‑critical requirements.
  • Drive proven success: Play a pivotal role in shipping sensor‑based systems—such as radar, lidar, or vision modules—that have achieved ISO 26262 ASIL‑B certification or equivalent safety standards.

What You Bring

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience: 5+ years in systems engineering with at least 3 years dedicated to developing functionally safe products in automotive or industrial domains.
  • Technical mastery: Deep knowledge and hands‑on experience with ISO 26262, especially Parts 3–6, including requirements engineering, architecture design, and safety analysis.
  • Tools expertise: Skilled in requirements management tools (Jama Connect preferred), version control systems (Git), and Python scripting for automation and data analysis.
  • Lifecycle fluency: Proven track record across the full V‑model development process—from concept and system definition through validation and release.
  • Impact‑driven mindset: A proactive approach to problem‑solving, clear communication, and a passion for delivering systems that redefine what's possible in safe sensing technologies.

Why This Role Matters

You'll be joining a mission‑driven engineering environment focused on enabling smarter, safer, and more autonomous systems that interact seamlessly with the world around them. Your expertise will directly influence the reliability and performance of sensing technologies that drive innovation across mobility, robotics, and industrial automation.

If you're ready to build safety into the DNA of tomorrow's intelligent machines, this is your chance to lead that transformation.
