Senior Software Engineer - Developer Platform

We are seeking a senior engineer to join the Developer Platform team at Pave. This high-impact, high-autonomy role will help define how Pave builds software, lead initiatives end to end, and partner with engineers across product and data to remove friction, boost developer velocity, and strengthen reliability.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in backend, infrastructure, or developer experience.
• High developer empathy — you love improving workflows and enabling others to move faster.
• Proven ability to lead large, ambiguous projects with cross-team impact.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture (GCP or similar), security, and reliability best practices.
• Strong debugging and systems-thinking skills, with experience scaling production systems.
• Nice to Have: Experience with AI/ML infrastructure or internal developer platforms in enterprise SaaS environments.

Our stack includes: TypeScript, Node.js, Orbstack, Kubernetes, Terraform, GCP, Datadog, GitHub Actions, Cursor, and Incident.io.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement CI/CD standards, observability, and reliability practices.
• Rethink local development workflows and incident response processes.
• Collaborate with product and data teams to remove friction and improve developer velocity.

Compensation

Salary is one component of Pave's total compensation package, which includes equity, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage, an unlimited PTO policy, and region-specific benefits. The targeted cash compensation for this position is (level based on experience and performance in the interview):

$195,500 - $264,500
