Position Summary

The Vice President of Business Development will lead Oath's commercial growth strategy and execution across key North American markets in specialty crops (vegetables, leafy greens, soft fruit, potato), forestry, and grasslands. This role blends strategic vision with scientific and commercial acumen — driving partnerships, trials, and go-to-market efforts that advance regenerative agriculture at scale. You will be responsible for identifying and securing high-impact opportunities, building relationships across the ecosystem, and shaping how Oath's microbial technology reaches and transforms the market.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Market Expansion: Develop and execute a business development strategy that drives revenue growth and market adoption of Oath's microbial solutions.
• Strategic Partnerships: Identify, establish, and nurture partnerships across specialty crops, forestry, and carbon markets to scale Oath Soil Life and integrated carbon offerings.
• Go-to-Market Networks: Build a robust network of regional and local partners to drive commercialization and field validation.
• Opportunity Assessment: Conduct market and opportunity analyses to guide Oath's investment priorities and strategic decisions.
• Commercial Trial Leadership: Design, coordinate, and analyze nursery and field trials with customers and partners to demonstrate product efficacy and ROI.
• Scientific-Commercial Bridge: Leverage soil health, microbiome, and sustainability expertise to translate complex science into actionable business opportunities.
• Client Support & Enablement: Provide technical guidance, training, and ongoing support to customers, partners, and distributors.
• Pipeline Growth: Identify and pursue potential clients through market research, relationship building, and proactive outreach — maintaining a “hunter” mindset.
• Performance Reporting: Deliver clear, data-driven reports on market developments, commercial progress, and partnership outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant leadership experience in agribusiness, biologicals, soil science, forestry, or sustainability sectors.
• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Track record of testing, scaling, and commercializing innovative agricultural or biological products.
• Proven experience leading market expansion and partnership development.
• Comfort operating in dynamic, fast-paced, and mission-driven environments.

Compensation

A competitive compensation package, including base salary ($153,000 - $215,000) and equity participation. Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience, location-based cost of living, and demonstrated skills and qualifications.
