Job Summary

The Admissions Coordinator will work on a temporary assignment of approximately 3 months in a hybrid schedule (3 days on-site, 2 days remote each week). The role supports the UCSF School of Pharmacy's Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program by providing detailed information to prospective students, evaluating and reviewing applications, and assisting throughout the admissions process. The coordinator maintains admissions operations, database systems, and communication with applicants, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, evaluate, and recommend applicants for admission using established guidelines.
  • Assess prerequisite coursework and update articulation agreements with colleges and universities.
  • Coordinate virtual interviews and final review processes via Zoom.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions Committee on PharmD admissions decisions.
  • Manage UCSF's interface with the national pharmacy application service (PharmCAS).
  • Operate and maintain admissions databases and software systems.
  • Track and monitor applicant credentials and completion requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison to key campus offices, outside agencies, and community organizations.
  • Provide professional and courteous communication with students, parents, and university partners.
  • Support special projects within the Office of Student Affairs as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong ability to maintain cooperative and professional relationships with schools, universities, and community organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of University of California admissions policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with academic programs, curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid within the UC system.
  • Experience using online admissions systems and databases.
