Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Manager of Cloud Engineering & Operations to join Automation Anywhere, a global leader in Agentic Process Automation. In this role, you'll lead the architecture, deployment, and continuous optimization of our cloud infrastructure that powers cutting‑edge generative AI and APA solutions. You'll drive scalability, security, and efficiency across our platforms, combining cloud operations excellence with next‑generation AI innovation. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in AWS, GCP, or Azure, strong leadership and automation skills, and a passion for building secure, cost‑optimized, and high‑performing cloud environments that enable the future of intelligent automation.

Reporting To

This role reports to our VP Cloud Engineering.

Location

Hybrid role with regular onsite workdays in our San Jose, CA office required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a high‑performing cloud engineering team focused on building and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure for AI workloads, including generative AI models.
  • Mentor the Cloud Operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and enforce cloud governance, operational best practices, and compliance policies.
  • Drive automation across deployment pipelines, monitoring, and infrastructure management (IaC, CI/CD).
  • Manage cloud cost optimization strategies to ensure efficient usage of cloud resources.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Security, Development, and Product teams to align cloud operations with business objectives.
  • Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and incident management processes to ensure high service uptime and reliability.
  • Ensure robust security, compliance, and monitoring frameworks for AI infrastructure.
  • Stay up to date with generative AI advancements and translate new capabilities into infrastructure improvements.
  • Lead capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, and performance tuning initiatives.
  • Stay current on emerging cloud technologies, trends, and best practices to continuously improve architecture and operations.
  • Define and report KPIs and metrics for system performance, uptime, security, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud operations, with 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing AWS, GCP, or Azure environments in a large‑scale production setting.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.), and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
  • Deep knowledge of cloud security, compliance, cost management, and performance optimization.
  • Experience managing GPU/TPU clusters or similar accelerators for AI workloads.
  • Knowledge of frameworks and tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, or equivalent.
  • Hands‑on experience leading high‑performing engineering teams in 24x7 production environments, with a strong focus on incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and continuous service reliability improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Salary

Base salary range: $195,000 – $205,000. Eligible for discretionary bonus, equity, and full range of medical and other benefits.
