Job Description

Become a driving force in GEICO's technological transformation! We seek a Distinguished Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and implementation of Finance Transformation solutions. You will build a robust, automated, and scalable platform that streamlines accounting, substantiation, forecasting, reporting, pricing, reserving, compliance, and treasury operations.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement finance platforms and solutions that support varying finance and corporate initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with business and product partners to understand needs and design solutions that address priorities.
  • Drive decision‑making for buy‑vs‑build evaluations based on functional fit, technical feasibility, and cost‑benefit analysis.
  • Lead fintech solutioning in areas such as automated reporting and analytics, treasury operations, reserving, revenue forecasting, pricing, regulatory compliance automation, and substantiation.
  • Abstract cross‑cutting concerns into common platform components usable across current and future use cases.
  • Lead team prioritization and sequencing of milestones to deliver incremental business value.
  • Champion best practices, including modular design, version control, automated testing, and security considerations, fostering a culture of quality and efficiency.
  • Partner with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to implement monitoring, alerting, and automation for platform reliability, scalability, and cost‑efficiency.

Skills

  • Deep functional understanding of finance processes such as Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Reconciliation, FP&A, and Governance & compliance.
  • Strong experience with ERP finance platforms (Workday Financials, Oracle, SAP, etc.).
  • Ability to translate finance requirements into scalable technology solutions using modern tech stacks, e.g., Data Lake and Cloud Computing.
  • Solid understanding of SRE concepts such as SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident response tools.

Experience

  • 12+ years of product/platform engineering experience designing and building finance‑critical applications.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and mentoring technical teams.
  • Proven track record of partnering with product and business organizations to prioritize and deliver business value.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with Agile execution frameworks.
  • Prior experience implementing Workday Financials is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.

Compensation & Benefits
