Overview

Applied Scientist II, Prime Video Personalization and Discovery Science. Prime Video is seeking a technologist to shape the future of the digital video experience, delivering state-of-the-art personalization and discovery features for customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML models for various recommendation and search systems using deep learning, online learning, and optimization methods.
• Collaborate with other scientists, engineers, and product managers to expand product insights with data, and design experiments to identify high-impact projects for planning roadmaps.
• Stay up-to-date with advancements and the latest modeling techniques in the field.
• Publish research findings in top conferences and journals.

A day in the life: Work with foundation models to connect information about videos and customers from diverse sources, process data sets at scale, and build scalable personalization solutions. Lead as a research and hands-on ML practitioner, guiding teams and occasionally publishing at internal or external venues.

Basic Qualifications

• PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML, or related field experience
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• 1+ years of building models for business applications
• Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Unix/Linux
• Experience in professional software development

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year to $223,400/year, with pay varying by location and experience. This position may include additional compensation components as part of a total package.
