Lyra Technology Group is seeking a Systems Engineer for one of its operating companies, Network Doctor. As a Systems Engineer, you will provide onsite technical support in San Francisco, CA. We're looking for a mid‑level Systems Engineer who is technically strong, eager to learn, and excited to grow within a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment.

We focus on creating and maintaining a comfortable, collaborative, and inclusive environment where everyone has a voice and all suggestions are considered in a productive and respectful manner.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver excellent customer service and technical support both onsite and remotely.
  • Troubleshoot and manage Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and core networking components.
  • Support cloud services such as Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Azure AD (Entra ID), and email security tools like Mimecast or Proofpoint.
  • Configure and maintain systems and devices: firewalls, switches, access points, virtual machines (VMware), storage devices, and backup solutions.
  • Work with financial and business applications such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  • Assist in managing and updating internal SharePoint sites and permissions.
  • Contribute to projects – system upgrades, migrations, rollouts.
  • Create and maintain documentation for technical processes, configurations, and best practices.
  • Communicate clearly with teammates and clients to provide updates, share findings, and collaborate on troubleshooting.
  • Stay proactive by identifying recurring issues, proposing improvements, and helping shape support processes.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of IT experience, ideally in a client‑facing or MSP environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with:
    • Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
    • Networking basics: routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs.
  • Solid diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • A team player who is proactive, detail‑oriented, and thrives in a fast‑moving environment.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local client visits.

Additional Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting financial or professional services industries.
  • Familiarity with VMware, Citrix, or NAS/SAN storage.
  • Experience with ConnectWise or other PSA/RMM platforms.
  • Prior work in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.
