Team Overview


Cresset is seeking an Associate, Investment Analyst to join our San Francisco?based Wealth Advisory Team. This role is designed for someone who thrives on problem?solving, analytical thinking, and technical depth, and who can support both Wealth Advisors and Client Service Associates in delivering exceptional client outcomes. We are looking for a candidate with 2-4 years of experience in an analytical and/or technical role, with a strong educational background that demonstrates intellectual rigor and quantitative ability. The ideal hire will be a go?to resource for data?driven insights, with the ability to break down complex problems, work confidently in spreadsheets and other tools, and learn new systems quickly. While the focus is technical, effective communication and collaboration skills are essential.


Primary Responsibilities



  • Analyze and support client investment portfolios by working with the Wealth Advisors on the development, presentation, and implementation of investment recommendations. Responsibilities also include portfolio construction, investment proposals, and creating and tracking investment policy statements.

  • Experience and understanding of asset allocation, diversification concepts, and concentrated exposure.

  • Build investment proposals aligned with client risk and return expectations, time horizon, and objectives.

  • Create pitch decks for prospective clients and maintain team marketing materials.

  • Integrate firm?wide research into client portfolios through collaboration with the National Investments Team.

  • Take ownership of ad hoc analytical client projects requiring creativity, structured problem?solving, and analytical rigor to find and deliver a solution.

  • Prepare updates on alternative asset investments in preparation for client meetings.

  • Monitor client K?1s and 1099s, and coordinate delivery of tax details to CPA teams.

  • Co?lead team trading operations.


Operations



  • Lead AI integration to drive team efficiency initiatives.

  • Develop deep proficiency in custodian platforms (Pershing and Fidelity).

  • Record and maintain accurate Salesforce records for all client activities.

  • Produce polished quarterly performance reports under a timeline for delivery to clients.

  • Prepare professional, well?structured materials for client and prospective client meetings.

  • Learn to utilize Cressets internal networks and resources effectively.

  • Develop and maintain balance sheets, net worth statements, cash flow projections, and financial plans in eMoney.

  • Participate in prospective and client meetings, as needed, to gather information for developing balance sheets and financial plans.

  • Stay current on wealth planning trends, legislative changes, and planning techniques; collaborate with the Wealth Strategy team to integrate these insights into client plans.


Qualifications and Characteristics



  • Bachelors degree in Math, Data Science, Finance, or related field.

  • 2?4 years in analytical, investment, or portfolio?focused roles.

  • CFP or CFA credentials or working toward designation, preferred.

  • Must obtain Series 65 license (or equivalent) within 120 days if unlicensed; current license a plus.

  • Advanced skills in Excel (expect Excel test) and PowerPoint.

  • Strong analytical aptitude; ability to process numbers and information quickly.

  • Think strategically; work independently with limited guidance, while also collaborating effectively in team settings.

  • Experience using AI in the workplace.

  • Highly organized, flexible, and able to operate with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.

  • Co?achable; Positive energy and attitude required!

  • Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion and demonstrate the highest level of client service, ethics, and integrity.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Salesforce proficiency: familiarity with Addepar, eMoney, and custodian platforms (Pershing and Fidelity) is a plus.


What We Offer


At Cresset, we focus on people first. As a service business, our people are our assets. Engaging our clients and employees is our highest priority. Starting base salary range: $115,000 - $135,000. Salary will be based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, licenses/certifications, industry knowledge, and geographic location.
