Financial Operations Associate

  2025-10-25     SuperPower     San Francisco,CA
Description:

Early-Career Financial Operations Associate

We're looking for an early-career Financial Operations Associate to help us build and scale the financial backbone of our business. This role sits at the intersection of Finance and Operations – with responsibility for payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and the analytics that inform critical business decisions.

You'll own execution on day-to-day processes while also shaping how our financial operations evolve as we scale. This is an opportunity for someone with strong analytical chops and a bias toward action who's ready to grow into a strategic operator. Someone who wants to become a COO/ CFO someday.

What You'll Do

  • Build the Finance Machine
    • Run payroll processes end-to-end, including contractor and FTE payments.
    • Work with tools like Deel to simplify and streamline payroll for both domestic and international teams.
    • Manage and improve AP/AR processes for a B2C/ B2B environment.
    • Identify inefficiencies and implement better systems to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Provide Strategic Direction to Growth, Operations, and Engineering
    • Partner with executives on building out financial operations functions.
    • Contribute to financial planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
    • Bring a business‑minded lens to financial data — ensuring decisions tie back to growth and sustainability.
  • Drive Financial Analytics & Reporting
    • Analyze data on cost of labor, COGS, and other key financial drivers.
    • Provide insights that inform operational and strategic decision‑making.
    • Partner with executives to prepare board and investor information.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–7 years of professional experience in financial operations, accounting, or related roles.
  • Structured and organized, with a love for MECE frameworks.
  • Enjoy executing and getting hands dirty (instead of spending 3 weeks “ideating”).
  • Strong analytical and data skills; comfortable working with financial models and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute quickly and accurately while improving processes.
  • Business acumen and interest in scaling startups.
  • Strong stakeholder management.
  • Bonus: familiarity with workforce/payroll tools (Rippling, Workday, Deel, etc).
  • Bonus: experience with AP/AR, payroll, and contractor/FTE management.
  • Bonus: experience with financial planning or FP&A.

Why Join Us

  • Be part of a small, high‑impact team where your work directly shapes the company's growth.
  • Gain exposure to both operational execution and strategic finance.
  • Work alongside executives and founders, with mentorship and growth opportunities into senior finance/ops roles.
