Employee Relations Manager

UCSF Health is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Manager to support the mission of UCSF Health.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Labor and Employee Relations (LER), the Employee Relations Manager serves as a senior resource and manager to other labor and employee relations staff. The role provides overall guidance to managers, supervisors and directors regarding all aspects of the Employee and Labor Relations spectrumfrom formal training to grievance handling and corrective action. This position requires on?site presence at UCSF 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on human resources policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and employment law.


• Advise managers and supervisors on work?related issues and progressive corrective action.


• Handle formal training, grievance procedures, and employee relations matters.


• Assist in writing and interpreting HR policies and ensuring compliance with existing agreements and the law.


• Offer counseling and support during labor and employee relations situations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a related area or equivalent experience.


• 710 years of experience in employee and labor relations or a combination of education, training, and experience.


• Minimum 2 years of lead and/or supervisory experience.


• Advanced analytical, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.


• Proficiency in interpreting collective bargaining agreements and personnel policies, including FMLA, ADA, and FLSA.


• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.


• Demonstrated ability to handle difficult or volatile situations effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters or advanced degree in business, human resources management, or law.


• Experience in compensation, employee relations, or employee benefits.


• Healthcare labor and employee relations experience.


• Public sector or higher education labor and employee relations experience.

Salary Range

Annual salary range: $105,900 $225,900.
