The *Burlingame Aquatic Club (BAC)* is seeking passionate and experienced individuals for the role of *Lead Water Polo Coach*. This part-time position is ideal for someone who is committed to athlete development and competitive excellence, and who thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

*Job Summary*

As a Lead Coach, you will take ownership of a specific age group (10U–18U) within our competitive water polo program. You will be responsible for planning and executing training sessions, managing game and tournament schedules, ensuring clear communication with families, and fostering a safe, positive, and competitive atmosphere.

You will work closely with the Head Coach to ensure alignment across the program, stay up-to-date with USA Water Polo rules, and represent BAC with professionalism and integrity.

*Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Coaching*

* Plan, organize, and lead high-quality training sessions and practices.
* Oversee team formation and ensure readiness for competition.
* Foster an environment of sportsmanship, team success, and personal growth.
* Support player development through individual feedback and mentoring.
* Maintain equipment and facilities to ensure safety and readiness.

*Communication*

* Serve as the primary point of contact for your age group's athletes and parents.
* Respond to all inquiries and communications within 24 hours.
* Coordinate regularly with the Head Coach to report on team progress, event results, and any issues.
* The Lead Coach reports directly to the *Head Coach*, who provides ongoing guidance, support, and performance feedback. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to lead practices, attend events, manage administrative duties, communicate effectively, and contribute to a culture of excellence.

*Administrative Duties*

* Manage schedules, rosters, and attendance using the team platform (BYGA).
* Track and input all event data, practice attendance, and player information.
* Ensure timely updates and accurate data entry to keep the team organized.

*Event Participation*

* Attend all team events including:
* Practices
* Games
* Scrimmages
* Tournaments
* Team bonding events
* Participate in weekly staff meetings and 1:1 sessions with the Head Coach.

*Compliance & Representation*

* Stay current with USA Water Polo and local league rules and policies.
* Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and fun.

Represent BAC with professionalism in all settings.

*Qualifications/Minimum Requirements*

* 2+ years of water polo coaching experience.
* Playing experience at the club, collegiate, or professional level.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
* Must pass DOJ/FBI background check.
* Valid California driver's license and a clean driving record.

*Certifications (Required or Willing to Obtain)*

* USA Water Polo Coaching Certification (Active membership required)
* Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (within 90 days of hire)
* Safesport Certified
* CPR and First Aid Certification preferred
