We are hiring a Mental Health Counselor I for the Residential Support Services (RSS) program, which offers 24-hour care in homelike settings for clients with moderate to severe mental illness across Marin County.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team, providing prompt communication to all members.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including client notes and mileage reports.
  • Support clients in activities of daily living, fostering recovery and independence.
  • Monitor and report on clients' mood and behavior; ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Assist with shopping, meal planning, cooking, and teaching life skills.
  • Provide medication prompts, reminders, and assistance, ensuring proper storage and adherence.
  • Transport clients as needed, teaching use of public transportation and maintaining medical appointments.
  • Perform housekeeping and basic maintenance tasks as required.
  • Ensure services meet high standards of care and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; experience with mental illness/substance abuse preferred.
  • Fluent in English; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, organized, calm, and professional.
  • Basic to intermediate MS Office skills.
  • Valid California drivers license with insurable record and personal vehicle.
  • Ability to pass background checks, including Livescan fingerprinting.

Physical Requirements:

Capable of activities such as listening, talking, seeing, bending, lifting up to 30 pounds, and extended activities like driving and sitting.
