Argonaut Hotel Restaurant Greeter

Housed within Fisherman's Wharf historic Haslett Warehouse building, the Argonaut Hotel merits a term like iconic both for its past and its present. A recipient of the AAA Four Diamond Award for 18 consecutive years, the Argonaut boasts a location just as noteworthy. Guests wake to views of the San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge before venturing mere steps to next door Ghirardelli Square & Hyde Street Pier.

The restaurant greeter's basic function is to provide the guests, either on the phone or in person, with information and support in a professional, engaging and gracious manner.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide fair and consistent seating of guests
  • Receive and record reservations by phone or in person
  • Accurately handle paperwork
  • Receive incoming calls
  • Take room service calls and orders (if necessary)
  • Check floor and tables for accuracy and cleanliness
  • Assist in serving food/bussing tables as needed
  • Maintain a clean podium
  • If any orders are "carry-out", package and check-out (if necessary)
  • Stock host/hostess stand
  • Refill beverages as business demands
  • Provide information to guests as requested

Qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in greeting guests but it's not required! We can teach you the skills, you bring personality!
  • Works well in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
  • Able to accommodate a flexible schedule that may include weekends and/or holidays; AM/PM shifts
  • Outside-of-the-box thinker who takes the initiative to creatively solve problems.
  • Multi-tasking in a team environment and doing it with a positive attitude and a smile on your face and in your voice.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
