Under the close supervision of the Accounting Administrator I, in a learning capacity, the Accountant Trainee is responsible for performing professional accounting functions within the General Ledger Unit. Tasks are performed in accordance with Office of Fiscal Services (OFS) guidelines, Governors Budget, Department of Finance (DOF) rules and regulations, State Controller's Office (SCO) policies, State Administrative Manual (SAM), and government codes utilizing FI$Cal/PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office. Within the General Ledger Unit, as a learner the Accountant Trainee will learn to assist with DIRs monthly reconciliations, month-end close, year-end close, and preparation of financial statements.

Working Conditions
Location: 455 Golden Gate Ave 10th floor, San Francisco, CA 94102. The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting. The building is air-conditioned with elevator access. Some travel may be required. While in training, in-office presence is required five days a week; hybrid schedule may be available with a minimum of two days in-office per department policy.
