About the Role
Director, Brand Voice and Tone at Salesforce is a strategic creative leader responsible for shaping and maintaining the brand voice across all communications, ensuring consistency, differentiation, and alignment with the overall brand strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a consistent, differentiated brand voice across all communications to resonate with target audiences.
- Create enablement resources and lead training for cross‑functional writers and communicators.
- Ensure high‑visibility copy in brand campaigns and keynotes is clear, aligns with brand guidelines, and reflects the brand voice.
- Provide creative direction for campaigns and projects, ensuring all content aligns with the overall brand strategy.
- Maintain exceptional writing and editing skills, adapting to varying styles and tones.
- Partner deep with Brand Strategy & Messaging to communicate the brand's unique identity.
- Leverage modern tools, including AI, to scale the Salesforce brand voice efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, design, product, and other teams to ensure brand consistency and effective content creation.
- Lead and communicate with stakeholders, motivating and guiding teams while providing constructive feedback.
- Build strong relationships with diverse teams across the organization.
- Adapt tone for different audiences, platforms, and contexts across marketing and communication channels.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of copywriting experience, with 5+ years leading brand voice in an agency or in‑house creative team.
- Experience leading brand voice for a world‑class company, leveraging technology, SaaS, or enterprise products (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to translate strategic messaging into compelling copy.
- Skilled teacher – able to coach and train people to deploy brand voice through workshops and feedback.
- Expert use of AI writing tools at both individual and organizational levels for scale and enablement.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to adapt writing style and tone of voice for diverse audiences and platforms.
- Portfolio showcasing brand‑driven storytelling and impactful campaigns across various formats.
