Machine Learning Engineer

Our client is a well-funded AI infrastructure startup building production ML systems for customers ranging from early-stage AI companies to Fortune 10 enterprises. 7x YOY revenue growth with strong product-market fit in their space.

About the Role

We're seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to develop and deploy production vision models that extract structured data from complex inputs. You'll work directly with founders to train state-of-the-art models, build evaluation pipelines, and ship ML systems that power their core product serving hundreds of enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

• Train, fine-tune, and deploy computer vision and vision-language models at scale
• Design and implement experiments to improve model accuracy on complex inputs
• Build robust data pipelines and evaluation frameworks to measure model performance
• Integrate ML models into production systems serving millions of requests monthly
• Collaborate directly with customers to understand requirements and iterate on model capabilities
• Debug production issues and optimize model latency/throughput
• Stay current with latest ML research and apply novel techniques to real-world problems

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or a related field (M.S. a plus)
• 2+ years training, fine-tuning, and evaluating ML models in production environments
• Strong Python programming skills with production-quality code standards
• Deep experience with computer vision models and vision-language models (VLMs)
• Proven ability to ship ML features end-to-end, from experimentation to production
• Quantitative mindset with strong debugging and experimentation skills
• Comfortable building internal tools (e.g., Streamlit apps) to accelerate workflows

Preferred Skills

• Prior startup experience or early-stage product development
• Track record of keeping up with latest ML/AI research and applying it practically
• Experience with LLM integration and prompt engineering
