Founding Fullstack Engineer – San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)
My client is a well-funded, high-growth startup delivering embedded marketing tools to small businesses through vertical SaaS platforms. Already launched with major partners reaching hundreds of thousands of end users, they're now hiring a founding fullstack engineer to help scale their impact.
About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to join as one of the first non-cofounder engineering hires. You'll own core product decisions, ship production-grade code, and help architect the technical foundation of a platform that's transforming how SMBs grow.

What You'll Build
- Embedded marketing tools (email, SMS, loyalty, and more) for vertical SaaS platforms
- REST APIs and fullstack features that drive real-world SMB growth
- AI-powered workflows that simplify marketing for non-technical users
- Scalable infrastructure using Rails, React, Redis, Postgres, and Kubernetes on AWS
What My Client Is Looking For
This role is for engineers who've thrived in high-growth environments and want to do it again—with even more ownership.
Must-haves
- CS degree from a top-tier university OR 5+ years at a top startup (e.g. Stripe, Plaid, Notion)
- Strong fullstack experience (React + backend; Ruby on Rails preferred or willing to learn)
- Demonstrated career momentum and technical leadership
- GitHub that shows real work—not just buzzwords

- H1B transfers
- New grads from top 10 schools or with standout internships (FANG/unicorns)
- Must be strong self-starters with active GitHubs and fullstack side projects
- Compensation up to $170K for top-performing new grads
Nice-to-haves
- Rails experience at a startup
- Experience building for SMBs or embedded platforms
- Early-stage startup experience (0→1 builder mindset)
- Very active GitHub (thousands of green squares)

Compensation & Benefits
- Senior: $225K–$245K
- Mid-Level (3+ yrs): $190K–$210K
- Junior: $175K–$195K
- Top new grads: Up to $170K
