Our 150 team members help families navigate child care and preschool options and secure financial assistance. We provide training and resources to home‑based child care businesses and support parents through free programs and workshops. As the city's second‑largest nonprofit contractor, we are a major stakeholder in the child care system.

Position Summary

We are looking for a self‑motivated, enthusiastic senior manager. The Senior Data Manager will interpret and analyze data from multiple sources, create dashboards and reports, extract trends, and turn data into actionable information. They will define and manage data content and quality to ensure organization needs are met. The role reports to the Chief Technology Officer.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Takes strategic management role over data across the organization, champion data to key stakeholders
  • Assist CTO with implementation of Data Strategy
  • Responsible for creation, management, training, and administration of the data warehouse
  • Creates and maintains integrations between the organization's data warehouse and external REST APIs using Azure Data Factory, Cloudingo, and other platforms
  • Manage and enhance integrations that transfer data into Salesforce utilizing ETL processes from the data warehouse, SQL databases, and form tools such as FormAssembly
  • Utilize tools such as Cloudingo and Salesforce duplicate management features to minimize duplicate contacts and accounts
  • Work closely with internal data team staff to clean and transfer historical data from spreadsheets into Salesforce using Dataloader, Cloudingo, and Data Import Wizard
  • Serve as administrator and technical resource for Account Engagement, the email marketing tool
  • Supervise the organization's Web/Database Administrator position and manage related work
  • Establish requirements and assess the quality of data in current databases
  • Assist in maintenance and creation of a data catalog and data map
  • Implement data standards, policies, procedures, and business rules
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports, dashboards, and presentation materials for key constituents
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquire data from primary and secondary sources, maintain databases and data systems
  • Filter and clean data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct issues
  • Serve as the organization's Salesforce Administrator, manage the database and configuration, and work with Salesforce consultants
  • Provide training and technical assistance with survey design and reporting, and establish survey standards and procedures
  • Independently analyze and summarize findings, present data in formats such as Excel pivots, PowerPoint, reports, dashboards, grids, tables, and provide suggestions or recommendations
  • Other data related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of hands‑on experience involving quantitative data analysis and complex problem solving
  • Bachelor's in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field
  • Must be organized and extremely detail‑oriented
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and time management skills
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze statistical data and present findings clearly and concisely in verbal, written, and graphic form
  • Strong knowledge and experience with reporting packages, databases (SQL, etc.), and ETL
  • Strong knowledge of SQL is a must
  • Data Warehouse experience (particularly Azure/Azure Data Factory)
  • Salesforce Administration and Configuration experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended amounts of time
  • Ability to stand for extended amounts of time
  • Manual dexterity to use office equipment; the ability to sit and work at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Physical agility to lift and carry materials, bend, stoop, and reach overhead

Hybrid Work

We have adopted a hybrid working model and currently require employees to be present in the office at least 3 days per week, with the option to work 2 days per week remotely. Applicants should be comfortable with both the remote and in‑office scenarios. All staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 (barring medical or religious exemptions). Wearing masks in the office is optional for our staff.
